Théo Vincent – Education Officer – Visit to the Initiales du BTP Trade Show

Constructions-3D at Initiales du BTP: Training Today, Building Tomorrow. On March 11th, CNIT Forest Paris La Défense hosted the inaugural edition of Initiales du BTP, a unique trade show entirely dedicated to innovation in construction trade education. Organized by CCCA-BTP, the event brought together educators, industry professionals, and tech startups to collectively envision the future of construction training by 2030.

Théo Vincent – Education Officer – Visit to the Initiales du BTP Trade Show

Among the engaged visitors, Théo Vincent, Education Development Manager at Constructions-3D, attended the event to explore potential collaborations with training institutions.

Education as a Driver of Innovation

For Théo Vincent, the challenge is clear: "The development of construction trades depends on anticipating ongoing changes. It is essential for training stakeholders to embrace tools like 3D concrete printing to prepare future professionals for the upcoming ecological, digital, and technological challenges."

Constructions-3D focused on mobility for this edition. Théo was thus able to freely engage with numerous CFA managers, project leaders, educational engineers, and institutions. This approach allowed him to identify a strong interest in emerging technologies, particularly those addressing sustainability challenges and the need for faster construction execution.

A Groundbreaking Innovation: The Elevated Street

Among the projects discovered, one initiative particularly caught his attention: “La Rue Hors Sol,” led by Rémi Acampo, Operational Director of the Campus des Métiers et Qualifications in Egletons.

This ambitious educational installation replicates a technical street at scale, including underground networks (water, gas, electricity, telecom). Enhanced with a digital twin and virtual reality devices, it aims to provide immersive training on the complexities of urban underground infrastructure.

An exemplary project in integrating digital technology into the hands-on learning of trade skills.

Inspiring and Promising Encounters

The trade show was also an opportunity to meet a wide range of profiles: curious students, trainers seeking new approaches, digital initiative leaders (serious games, VR), as well as key figures from the BTP CFA network and the Compagnons du Devoir.

"The exchanges were rich, open, and often focused on very concrete projects. Many see 3D printing as an innovative solution to address the skilled labor shortage while enhancing the image of construction trades," emphasizes Théo.

Constructions-3D Supporting Education

Even as a visitor, Théo Vincent took the opportunity to present Constructions-3D’s solutions: the MaxiPrinter and MiniPrinter PRO printers, the low-carbon material Termix-3D, and above all, the company’s commitment to integrating these technologies into training programs.

Visitors showed great enthusiasm: the precision, speed, and environmental relevance of 3D concrete printing sparked significant interest, especially among educational leaders looking for concrete projects to deploy in their regions.

Concrete Follow-Ups Already Underway

The momentum from the trade show continued a few days later during the 3D Days, where Constructions-3D welcomed several of the contacts made in Paris. Among them were Rémi Acampo (Egletons), Philippe Feytis (GRETA du Limousin), and Arnaud Gouilly-Fortin (BTP CFA Grand Est). Notably, BTP CFA Grand Est is one of the first to have equipped its institutions with a 3D concrete printer for construction training programs.

New collaborations are currently being discussed to support these stakeholders in deploying innovative educational pathways aligned with real-world needs.

Towards Augmented Construction Education

What does Théo take away from this first edition? "There is a clear need for training adapted to today’s challenges: sustainability, energy transition, safety, and attracting talent to the trades… The integration of digital tools strengthens learning and aligns skills with on-site realities."

For those who couldn’t attend, he recommends closely following the projects led by CCCA-BTP and the trade campuses, true laboratories for the construction of tomorrow.

Constructions-3D continues to strengthen its ties with the education sector. Because to print the future of building, we must also train those who will build it.
