Last March, Constructions-3D took part in the 3D DAYS—an event that shone a spotlight on 3D concrete printing technologies. On the program: a tour of the Tower, an exhibition of printed structures, live 3D concrete printing demonstrations, presentations of our 3D printers, and meaningful exchanges with our teams and partners. A look back at this key event and the new opportunities it helped shape.
La Citadelle des Savoir-Faire recently opened its doors to the public in Bruay-sur-Escaut. The event was an opportunity to showcase its scientific discovery center and the companies specializing in 3D printing and 3D scanning.
Visitors enjoyed an immersive experience, with detailed demonstrations of 3D printing and guided tours of the Pavillon, the Accueil, and the iconic Tour—all buildings constructed using 3D printing.
It was also a chance to discover the innovative companies based on site: Machines-3D, Constructions-3D, Termix-3D, Farm-3D, Solar-3D, Com-3D, and Resine-3D.
Its ambition to make technology accessible to as many people as possible continues with the development of upcoming construction projects. Visitors had the chance to see the future incubator under construction and took the opportunity to speak with the site manager, who was on hand to answer all their questions during the printing of a component of the future building.
The official inauguration of the Tower—now recognized as the tallest building in the world constructed using 3D concrete printing—was a major highlight of the day. The ceremony was held in the presence of Bruno Fontaine, President of the CCI Grand Hainaut, joined by Antoine Motte, founder of Constructions-3D, and a young guest specially invited for the occasion. Together, they cut the ceremonial ribbon—a powerful symbol of intergenerational transmission and a shared vision for the future of construction.
The iconic 500 m² Tower, standing 14.14 meters tall, was unveiled to the public. Built in just 225 hours with its walls printed in only 10 days, visitors were able to explore all three floors of this unique structure.
An achievement and a moment of pride for Constructions-3D, and for the future tenant of the building: Machines-3D.
Many visitors came to admire this technological feat with its reduced environmental footprint. In collaboration with our Tower construction team, Mr. Klaas De Rycke from the engineering firm Bollinger-Grohmann and Sylvain Noizet from the architectural firm Sylvain Pierre Jean engaged with attendees, sharing insights, technical details, and behind-the-scenes anecdotes about this monumental project.
Hundreds of participants had the opportunity to discover or rediscover 3D concrete printing. In a friendly and enriching atmosphere, local officials, industry professionals, media representatives, and school delegates all engaged with the innovation, interacted with the teams, and attended live demonstrations.
The MaxiPrinter was able to demonstrate its full potential, moving from printing a door frame to navigating through muddy terrain. It captivated the audience with a complete deployment process lasting no more than 2 minutes!
A factory tour was even organized to showcase the MaxiPrinter’s manufacturing process.
But it wasn’t the only highlight—visitors also had the chance to explore the entire range of Constructions-3D products, including the MiniPrinter PRO, MiniPrinter PRO XL, and the Constructimeter.
It was also an opportunity to announce the official opening of the Termix-3D plant and unveil the launch of a new product: the Aqua Control Unit, a system that regulates water temperature during on-site printing.
Our technical team shared their insights on this monumental project.
Estelle Hynek, our materials scientist and head of the Termix-3D materials development laboratory, engaged with the audience to highlight the numerous advantages of this revolutionary material.
Our partners also traveled to attend the 3D Days. Builders and property developers alike were eager to explore the showcased projects and live demonstrations. With the aim of investing in this technology, they engaged with technical teams and speakers to better understand the challenges and opportunities of 3D concrete printing.
Coming from all corners of the globe—from the United States to Reunion Island, as well as mainland France—they asked questions and gained insight into the potential of this groundbreaking innovation. Our American client, GPI, was also present and contributed to the event’s success.
Special thanks also go to our clients from the education sector, who quickly recognized the importance of integrating 3D printing into their curricula. They have enabled apprentices, students, high schoolers, and middle schoolers to explore the world of 3D printing.
Several teachers and school principals were also present to discuss and highlight the strong interest students show in these new technologies, as well as the need for the educational system to incorporate them into their teaching programs.
We would also like to thank Jeremie Moroy, civil engineering teacher at Lycée Schuman Perret in Le Havre, and Mr. Arnaud Gouilly Fortin, director of BTP CFA Grand Est, for their presence and active participation in the event.
Interested in the solutions offered by Constructions-3D and impressed by the performance of our machines, it is important to highlight the unwavering commitment of our partners.
Strongly covered by the media, several outlets made the trip to discover 3D concrete printing firsthand. France 3, Radio France, TF1, Primante 3D, La Voix du Nord, and many others—we thank them for their support of this exciting initiative and for helping to shine a light on and popularize a still relatively unknown industry.
We are also pleased to share this exceptional press review compiled for the occasion.
With the unwavering support of our speakers, partners, media, and of course our teams at the Citadelle des Savoir-Faire, you have all contributed to the success of the 3D Days.
Today, this is a collective pride that is being built day by day. Thanks to you, Constructions-3D’s ambition has never been stronger: the future of 3D construction printing is here—in France, at the Citadelle des Savoir-Faire, with you.
So thank you all. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
